A former Australian Defence Force member, 47, has been arrested and is expected to be charged with five counts of war crime – murder under a joint investigation between the Office of the Special Investigator (OSI) and the AFP.

The Hon Mark Weinberg AC KC will retire as the Special Investigator at the end of 2025.

A joint investigation between the Office of the Special Investigator (OSI) and the AFP has today resulted in a New South Wales man being charged with one count of War Crime—Murder under subsection 268.70(1) Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth).
