OSI Audit and Risk Management Committee Charter
The Audit and Risk Management Committee (ARMC) provides the OSI Director-General with independent assurance on the agency’s financial and performance reporting responsibilities, system of risk oversight and management, and systems of internal control. Section 45 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 requires all Commonwealth entities to have an audit committee.
The charter sets out the role and responsibilities of the ARMC and the governance arrangements that underpin and support its work.
Procedures for determining breaches of the APS Code of Conduct and for determining sanctions
Under Section 15(3) of the Public Service Act 1999 (the PS Act) all Commonwealth agencies must establish written procedures for determining whether an APS employee, or a former APS employee, in the agency has breached the Code of Conduct and the sanction (if any) that is to be imposed on an APS employee in the agency, who is found to have breached the Code of Conduct.
The OSI accesses the Attorney-General’s Department’s procedures for determining breaches of the APS Code of Conduct and for determining sanctions for directly engaged employees. View these procedures on the Attorney-General’s Department website. The Attorney-General’s Department provides the OSI shared services support to help us meet our statutory responsibilities.
OSI seconded employees are subject to employment conditions of their home agency, including the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct per the PS Act.
OSI Emissions Reduction Plan
The Australian Government released the Net Zero in Government Operations Strategy in November 2023, setting out the overall approach and action required by Australian Government entities to achieve the APS Net Zero 2030 target.
The OSI Emissions Reduction Plan provides a pathway for the OSI to contribute to the achievement of the APS Net Zero 2030 target and encompasses existing and new priorities and actions within the OSI to reduce emissions.
